"CRY" stands for Child Rights and You, which is an Indian non-government organisation (NGO) that works toward restoring basic human rights to underprivileged children.
In 1989, the United Nations held the "Convention on the Rights of the Child" to define child rights in an international treaty to which 191 countries are signatories. Based on this treaty, CRY focuses on four basic rights of children:
» the right to survival - to life, health, nutrition, name and nationality.
» the right to development - to education, care, leisure, recreation.
» the right to protection - from exploitation, abuse, neglect.
» the right to participation - to expression, information, thought and religion.
HeyJute is committed to helping children in need. As dedicated supporters, HeyJute donates 2% of every sale to CRY's causes.
